Manager - Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (For IFCCI's Client) Location - Chakan, Pune Company Profile - Company is a multi-national firm providing merchandising solutions for retail customer and engaged in manufacturing & servicing of retail displays, shop fittings / fixtures. Qualifications - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Quality management, or a related field. Post graduation Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental management or equivalent preferred. Certification within NEBOSH, SA 8000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001, Six Sigma Black Belt will be added advantage. 8-10 Years of experience in quality management systems, with 2-3 years in team lead position Experience working in a project-based manufacturing environment, preferably in the Retail industry or a related field. RESPONSIBILITIES - Developing and Implementing QHSE Policies Create, update, and implement quality, health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Guide production teams on First Time Right (FTR). Develop and Implement receipt quality inspections process and in process quality inspection procedure. Document SOP for quality-related activities, including non-conformance reports, corrective action plans. Drive initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs. Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to quality assurance, and incorporate relevant advancements into the organization's quality management system. Foster a culture of quality and accountability throughout the organization by promoting awareness, engagement, and ownership of quality-related objectives and initiatives. Serve as a liaison between the organization and customers or regulatory agencies on quality-related matters, addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of QHSE programs and track progress over time. Risk Assessment Ensure comprehensive risk assessments are in place for all activities with significant hazards and foreseeable risks. Provide guidance on completion of risk assessments and review as required. Provide training on hazard identification and risk assessment as necessary. Review risk assessments to ensure suitable and sufficient and adequate controls are in place. Complete to plan & schedule of internal audits and inspections. Provide training, guidance and advice as necessary to personnel involved with completion of audits/inspections. Complete audits and inspections according to schedule. Collate details of all findings and required corrective/preventive action arising from audits/inspections. Fire / Emergency Planning Maintain and develop appropriate procedures for the prevention of emergency situations and, in the event of emergencies, for the co-ordination of proportionate, effective response to emergency situations. Conduct and coordinate regular routine testing of emergency provisions including fire extinguishers, fire alarm testing. Incidents, Injuries, Near Misses Generate commitment to the correct and prompt reporting of all accidents, incidents, injuries and near misses. Complete investigations into all reported events, taking the lead for significant investigations. Ensure all reports are collated to generate comprehensive statistics and maintain accurate records. General HSE Advise of H&S requirements/considerations on machines/ equipment selection including from machines, tools, and equipment, through to PPE. Ensure users of equipment receive appropriate training and instruction. Ensure Pre-use checks are in place and suitable for all working equipment. Ensure registers of work equipment requiring maintenance, test and inspection are maintained by relevant personnel. Advise of maintenance frequencies/intervals and competence requirements for testing. Monitor completion of maintenance activities. Prepare Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental objectives in conjunction with various teams and establish implementation plans. Provide guidance and support to teams in their management of health, safety and environmental issues, so they can lead by example, integrate health, safety and environmental considerations into all operational managements and develop a positive culture. Promote a culture of QHSE awareness and responsibility among employees. Ensure that information related to safety, quality, and environmental issues is effectively communicated throughout the organization. Develop and manage budgets for QHSE programs, including allocating resources for training, equipment, and other necessary expenses. Environmental Monitor and record emissions. Ensure compliance to regulations, periodic submissions of returns and renewals. Ensure all permit monitoring and reporting is submitted in line with permit requirements. Establish and maintain a Legislation Register of all relevant HS&E legislation affecting its business. Depending on the organization's goals, responsible for implementing sustainability initiatives and reducing the organization's environmental footprint. Supplier and Contractor Management Evaluate and monitor the QHSE performance of suppliers and contractors to ensure they meet the organization's standards and requirements. Training and Education Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and contractors on safety, quality, and environmental standards and practices.
