Inviting applications for the role of Manager, Technical/Fund/Syndicate Accounting- Reserving reconciliation & reporting- Finance Operations
Responsibilities:
· Syndicate & Technical Accounting – Manage & review accounting entries for syndicates, premiums, claims, and reinsurance transactions in line with Lloyd’s and insurance accounting standards
· Fund Accounting & Ledger Management – Manage & provide oversight on fund movements, investment accounting, and related reconciliations ensuring accuracy across general and sub-ledgers
· Reserving & Reconciliations – Perform & review reserve calculations, prepare reconciliations between actuarial and accounting data, and ensure integrity of reported reserves
· Month-End Close & Reporting – Execute & provide oversight to close activities including journal entries, trial balance review, variance analysis, and preparation of management reports
· Regulatory & Compliance Support – Ensure adherence to IFRS 17, Solvency II, and Lloyd’s reporting requirements; maintain robust audit trails and documentation
· Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with actuarial, underwriting, and FP&A teams to ensure data accuracy, timely reporting, and issue resolution
· Continuous Improvement & Controls – Strengthen process controls, identify automation opportunities, and drive consistency and efficiency across insurance accounting operations
· Process Governance & Oversight – Lead end-to-end RTR operations including Technical Accounting, Month-End Close, and Reconciliations, ensuring compliance, timeliness, and accuracy
· Quality Assurance & Controls – Establish and monitor strong control frameworks, review key deliverables, and ensure adherence to accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and internal policies
· Governance & Reporting – Drive structured governance through regular reviews, dashboards, and performance metrics to ensure transparency and control across the RTR value chainMinimum Qualifications:
· CA / CPA / M-Com / B-Com or Graduate in Finance
· Relevant years of experience in managing F&A RTR Insurance processes
· Experience in working with an insurance client is mustPreferred Skill Set:
· Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
· Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
· Experience with accounting software, like Oracle, Blackline, etc.
· Computer literacy, MS Excel in particular (familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
· Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
· Self-starter, with ability to work under own initiative
· Strong time management skills
