Honeywell's Value Engineering (VE) and Component Engineering (CE) Center of Excellence (COE) is a dynamic collective of professionals dedicated to refining product development through innovative engineering and strategic component selection. Working in tandem with GBE's Engineering and Procurement teams, the VE/CE COE is a global entity tasked with the critical mission of enhancing product margins and driving productivity, thereby securing Honeywell's competitive edge in the global market. Our mandate spans across all Strategic Business Groups (SBGs), with the exception of AERO, ensuring that value engineering and component engineering principles are consistently applied to deliver tangible savings and superior products. As a hub of flexibility and rapid adaptation, the VE/CE COE is Honeywell's strategic response to the "ever-evolving" marketplace demands.Position Description:
  • You will be part of a VE/CE COE team leading an Engineering VE/CE team to deliver productivity results for the FIRE GBE to sustain Honeywell growth in the marketplace.
  • You will be accountable for cross functional and business alignment, driving strategic initiatives, to improve productivity & to increase quality of the end products, as well as leading and develop a talented engineering team of professionals and supervisors. You will strategically plan and lead large teams involved in major programs and strategic initiatives.
  • You will work effectively across geographical boundaries and act as a change agent.
  • You will leverage your technical experience and skills to guide teams in the investigation and solution of challenging technical problems.
  • You will lead, empower, and motivate engineering teams responsible for the delivery of productivity savings for our products and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Global FIRE VE/CE Team as part of the VE/CE COE under the FIRE VE/CE Leader, having as direct report all Engineering team for this GBE.
  • Developing ideas to meet the yearly targets and generating sustainable VE/CE pipeline for the coming years.
  • Deliver the yearly targets for Value Engineering and Component Engineering for the GBE
  • Design and maintain common best practices and capable tools for the entire team.
  • Asses and benchmark current state end to end processes through value stream mapping and identify and opportunities to gain efficiencies upon, through automation, digitization, simulation, or process re-engineering and/or optimization throughout design to delivery processes.
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with different stakeholders.
  • Propose and obtain cross functional and business alignment, especially with Engineering, Sourcing and Offering
  • Management, driving strategic initiatives, to improve productivity & to increase quality of the end products.
  • Strategically plan and lead large cross functional and business teams of strategic initiatives.
  • Drive change and maturity across different processes
  • Deliver, baseline and measure success on strategic initiatives.
  • Lead a team of high performing engineers, as well as people management and coaching leaders to ensure strong succession plan is in place in the team.
  • Develop global networks and involve global organizations touching technical activities like manufacturing, quality, technical support, export compliance.
  • Make timely decisions and balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness, even in the face of complexity.
  • Cross pollinating the best practices across the business
  • Developing training plans for the TRR and People Competency Development.
HTSIND2022YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Engineering degree (Bachelor /Master)
  • 2+ years' Experience managing, ideating, and executing Value Engineering and Component Engineering projects.
  • Solid knowledge on Fire product portfolio
  • Experience in an industrial environment of large global organization
  • Exceptional Change, Process, Data and Analytics Skills
  • Solid knowledge of specific product and process technologies or broad knowledge of multiple processes and systems
  • Experience in Hardware as well as Software
  • 2+ years of experience in any business aligned to Honeywell relevance.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in overseeing entry to senior level professionals.
