As a Geotechnical Engineer at AFRY, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects that will make a real impact. Through the Design Center you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled professionals in Sweden, use innovative technology, and play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions for our clients.About the AFRY Infrastructure DivisionOut of AFRY's Infrastructure Divisions 6,500 employees approximately 100 are Geotechnical professionals in the Swedish headquarter and more than 200 spread across the globe. The team provides engineering services in infrastructure projects such as, road/highways, high speed railway, bridges, water and wastewater utilities & treatments, tunnels and underground works.Your key responsibilities

Prepare geotechnical investigation plans including field investigations and laboratory testing
Perform analysis and design based on geotechnical investigations
Responsible for advanced geotechnical calculations
Establish and deliver drawings and 3D-models
Work closely with peers, line manager and other discipline engineers to ensure delivery that will meet utility standards, industry standards and meet good engineering practices, policies and procedures
Provide presentations to clients and internal audiences including technical teams and management committees

QualificationsWe expect that you have

A qualified degree in civil engineering from a reputable college in Soil Mechanics/Geotechnical Engineering or similar
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering in infrastructure industry
Good knowledge in soil mechanics with the ability to handle advanced calculations and experience in reviewing calculations prepared by other consultants
Good written and verbal communication skills in English language (CEFR minimum level B1)
Excellent technical writing skills
Working knowledge of Civil 3D with 3D modelling expertise
Working knowledge of GeoStudio Suite (SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, SIGMA/W)
A good knowledge of working in relevant applications of MS Office

We appreciate if you have

Experience of working with projects in the Nordics
Prior experience working with International Codes, European standards, Eurocode: Geotechnical design.
Knowledge of Trimble/Novapoint and/or Bentley MicroStation
Working knowledge of ArcGIS applications.
Experience of working on projects associated with the Swedish Transport Administration
Competence regarding sheet piles, retaining walls, pile foundations and earth reinforcements
