R240366 Description About this role Overview Of Responsibilities The individual will form part of the APAC Tax group and be responsible for managing and providing support for the tax matters pertaining to the Australian and New Zealand funds and corporate entities . Corporate tax responsibilities include preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, tax provisions and corporate tax returns, as well as implementation of appropriate controls and processes. Fund (or Product tax) responsibilities include assisting with the tax review of fund distributions and fund GST returns . The role requires partnership with global stakeholders to address tax regulation changes as well as to align with BlackRock's global tax operation model. Primary Areas Of Responsibility Include Manage timely and accurate tax review queries and query resolution for the Australian fund income distributions, including assisting and supporting preparations for the tax review. Collaborate with the external fund custodian in the review and filing of fund GST returns and running a controlled GST return process. Assist in the preparation of the Australian and New Zealand corporate income tax returns and in the review of fund income tax returns and other tax filings (e.g., withholding tax, VAT, etc.) for BlackRock corporate entities in Australia and New Zealand and the Australian fund ranges. Assist in handling Australian and New Zealand tax audits, appeals, litigations and ad hoc tax queries from tax authorities. Perform and/or monitor quality and internal controls for all deliverables. Identify issues and problems in process and take remedial action, along with internal procedures. Assist with monthly and annual tax provisions and various tax reconciliations for the Australian and New Zealand corporate entities. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders from time to time to facilitate the carry out of daily responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, analytical, and proactive in identifying and implementing process change which helps in driving increased accuracy, improved internal controls and greater efficiencies. Additionally, the candidate should be able to flourish in a fast pace and growing environment. Experience And Skills A graduate degree (B.Com) and/or professional qualification(s) in accounting and/or tax. Over 5 years of experience in handling direct/indirect tax compliance matters for corporate and/or funds across Australia and New Zealand regions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft Office applications. Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Consistently attentive to detail while meeting critical deadlines and handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong analytical skills with sound judgement. Knowledge and hands-on experience in Australian and New Zealand corporate and/or funds taxation are not essential but would be an advantage.
