Job descriptionWelcoming and greeting the patient at NovaIntroducing self as the patient nurseUnderstanding the patients purpose of visiting the floorGive admission to the patient as per her requirementTo escort patient to her room/wardAfter the patient reaches her room or ward, the nurse will have to orient her about:What to expect during her stay in the hospital todayOrientation on the same floor facilities and hospital servicesWhat to do in case of any queryAssist Consultants, Gynecologists, Physicians and Medical Officers during their rounds in the hospitalOn admission measure and note temperature, pulse, BP and other vitals of the patient and inform the Medical officer/Assistant GynecologistAssist the technician for ECGGive injections, start pint etc.. as per order of the consultantCarefully shift the patient to the OT as per planned time.Shift the patient back to her room/ward and again follow the order of consultantExplain patient relative all relevant information before and after the procedure/surgery. If the anxiety level of the patient is high, the nurse can inform the medical officer and if the need be can also inform Gynecologist.Taking rounds of the patient at regular interval and fill up vitals of the patients as per nursing sheet.Explain the patients relative to visit the drug store and pay for the drugs used in the OTPerform the following activities before discharge:Give medicines, operation CD, reports and discharge card if applicable to the patientRemove VIGO/Urine bag etc. as per nursing protocolCheck all the vitals like, Nausea, Vomiting, fever, BP etc. of the patientCheck the payment status of the patientWave a happy and get well soon goodbye to the patient and assure them that they will be fine soon and incase of any query they can always contact Dr. Mira DaveMaintain drug stock everyday and check the expiry of the drug every 3 monthsGive trigger injections to OPU patients 2 days before the OPU procedureTo prepare dressing tray and send it for autoclave.
