The Project Management Office (PMO) within WPB, supports the business's high priority and significant change Programmes and the strategies of the Business. We provide services to Value streams, Regional Portfolios, Programmes and Projects across the business. The PMO help ensure benefits of change are realised and investments are focused on delivering value to the customers through portfolio management, training, resource planning, and project coordination. Opportunity: The Senior Portfolio Services Manager is part of the Value Stream / Delivery PMO team of the WPB Change Portfolio The activities of the PMO are broadly centralized around Governance, Assurance, Reporting, Value Stream Investment Management and Change Management. This role will act as a source of guidance in supporting the Value Stream Leads for making strategic decisions. This role is responsible for ensuring adherence to the HSBC Change Framework, using the standard portfolio management tools aligned to the groups Strategic Tooling Spine such as Clarity, JIRA, Rally, and working closely with their colleagues the WPB Transformation team What you'll do: Demonstrates good knowledge of WPB Transformation Programme/Project Management Framework, supporting the creation of detailed plans for the VS/ SVSs Provide guidance to the Transformation VS/ SVS leads in defining required scope, quality, cost and effort Understands the impact of change requests to scope, time, budget or effort and helps identifies the new requirements to deliver the project successfully Drive QBR Rhythms. Co-ordinate & prepare materials for key VS level ceremonies. Oversight / Supervision of progress against the plan, looking ahead and removing roadblocks to delivery.Ask questions when they do not understand, takes ownership of problems and escalates when needed (remaining calm, knowing when to escalate, escalates with possible solutions) Oversight of VS Risks and Issues through appropriate tracking and involving key members of the SVS/ VS team as appropriate Tracks and reports financial performance metrics and builds budget control to manage expenses Develops communication and reporting strategy, coordinates between stakeholders for progress reviews, key decisions, documentation and approvals Establishes and updates quality procedures, manages internal ad-hoc quality audits, reports quality variance and suggests corrective actions Manage adherence of Change control around investment Keeps focus on the medium and long term goals and the Group's values particularly when under short term pressure Work with Programme / Project Manager to provide project governance and compliance, identifying and raising issues when necessary, monitoring tollgates and budgets Helps ensure the VS/ SVS leads team follows all quality assurance processes, Change frameworks and the use standard tools. Manages staffing requirements for the programme, maps skill profiles and develops resource and skill augmentation strategies, identifies right shoring opportunities Helps the VS/ SVS leads to create to a positive work environment for the project team Manages any PMO Managers /Analysts in the team to ensure they deliver quality work and meet the expectations of the programme. Leads People and Team Effectiveness Proactively and effectively manages own time and workload, advocates to team the importance of project pace to achieve successful delivery Above list is not exhaustive & covers core responsibilities expected of the resource securing the role. Addl responsibilities may form part of the role depending on the programme or portfolio where the resource is assigned / on boarded. Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: Strong leadership skills & ability to manage work independently without any supervision Excellent verbal and written communication skills and solid experience in face to face presentation Ability to understand, direct, guide and work with teams to build impactful dashboards and reports to enable better decision making in the portfolio / programme A thorough understanding is required of core PMO capabilities: HSBC Change Framework, Reporting & Insights, Tools such as Clarity / JIRA /Confluence / GPDM , Risk and Issue Management, Change Control Process & Global Governance Management VSIP management & reporting (Investments + Benefits) including GPDM Hierarchy Portfolio Financial & Resource management: Relationship/Impact assessment between Business Finance ($) and HR (FTE), thorough understanding of Billing process, Cost Allocation Methodology, Cost recharges Key milestone (release planning + road maps) and their relationship to investment tollgates and benefits realization Thorough understanding of PMO processes, procedures, tools and reporting standards: Experience in managing senior stakeholders required. What additional skills will be good to have Relevant industry certification preferred PMP/P3O/MSP/MO Certification in Agile.
