Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant-MSSQL Database Administrator (DBA)! Responsibilities . Database Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server instances. Ensure proper configuration settings to optimize database performance and security. . Database Design and Maintenance: Design and implement database structures, including tables, indexes, and views. Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, integrity checks, and index rebuilds. . Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Monitor database performance and proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks. Optimize SQL queries and database structures for improved efficiency. . Security Management: Implement and manage database security measures, including user authentication and authorization. Regularly review and audit database access to ensure compliance with security policies. . Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity. Test and document disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in case of failures. . High Availability and Replication: Implement and manage high availability solutions, such as SQL Server Always On Availability Groups or database mirroring. Configure and maintain database replication for data distribution. . Patch Management and Upgrades: Keep SQL Server instances up-to-date with the latest patches and updates. Plan and execute version upgrades to leverage new features and improvements. . Monitoring and Alerting: Set up monitoring tools to track the health and performance of SQL Server instances. Configure alerts for critical events and performance issues. . Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to database performance, connectivity, and functionality. Work closely with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve application-related database issues. . Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth and plan for additional storage and resources as needed. Provide recommendations for hardware upgrades to support database scalability. . Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for SQL Server instances, including configurations, processes, and procedures. Keep documentation up-to-date with changes and enhancements. . Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. Provide guidance on database-related best practices to application development teams. . Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine administrative tasks. Automate monitoring processes and alerts to streamline administrative workflows. . Training and Knowledge Sharing: Stay current with SQL Server updates and enhancements. Provide training to users and other administrators on SQL Server best practices and functionality. Qualifications we seek in you! Minimum Qualifications . Successful MSSQL DBAs typically have a solid background in database administration, strong troubleshooting skills, and a good understanding of SQL Server features and technologies. .
