Sl.No Desktop Support Engineer - L1 (Job Description) 1 Troubleshooting Desktop / Laptop OS issues. 2 Support for standard software issues (for softwares that are mutually agreed under the scope only) 3 Isolate system issues; diagnose standard software issues and report hardware issues to respective team. 4 Installation / re-installation / configuration of systems, printers, scanners. 5 Configure desktop and laptop as per the desktop/laptop standardization policies of 3M. 6 Installation / re-installation / configuration of in-scope client software / applications 7 Installation / configuration of e-mail clients 8 Troubleshooting e-mail client related issues 9 Troubleshooting printer / scanner related issues (Limited to driver / OS issues- No hardware support) 10 Troubleshooting issues related to standard office softwares (MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) and internet client. 11 Support for local area network issues (LAN), DHCP client (Limited to configuration issues- No support for LAN devices) 12 Install antivirus software and check virus definition auto updates. 13 Install approved patches onto desktops / laptops. 14 Disconnection of desktops / laptops / printers / scanners. 15 Configure Print Queues for Servers / Users / Groups as per SoPs provided by 3M. 16 Troubleshoot print queue related issues as per SoPs provided by 3M. 17 Configure appropriate rights and permissions for accessing printers. 18 Remove virus from respective desktop / laptop with the antivirus software provided by 3M.
