- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with federal, state, local, and company regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and develop preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Provide EHS training to employees at all levels, covering topics such as hazard communication, emergency response, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and ergonomic practices.
- Manage environmental permits, compliance reporting (e.g., air emissions, wastewater discharge, hazardous waste), and maintain accurate EHS records.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and management teams to integrate EHS considerations into new projects, processes, and equipment.
- Participate in and lead EHS committees, promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
- Evaluate and select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its proper use and maintenance.
- Stay current with new EHS regulations, industry best practices, and technological advancements to continuously improve EHS performance.
- Prepare and present EHS performance reports to management, identifying trends and recommending strategic improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific/technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal and state EHS regulations.
- Proven experience conducting EHS audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to influence and train diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are a plus.
- Experience with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001) is desirable.
