Job Role Sr. Design Engineer ProcessSub-Functional Area IDSub-Functional Area -GMS Technology (Process Engineering)Functional Areat GMS TechnologyJob Grade IJob PurposeTo be part of the process engineering team in carrying out review and approval of the Process Engineeringdeliverables for projects being executed by Reliance for the entire project execution life cycle starting from basicengineering, detail engineering and ultimately commissioning or start-up of process or technology. For RnDprojects to be part of the technology development team and be responsible for planning & designing of processesand to work on the entire phases of the project execution life cycle starting from feasibility to basic engineeringdesign, detail engineering and ultimately commissioning or start-up of process or technology.Job Accountabilities (duties and responsibilities).Job AccountabilitiesTo be familiar with all RIL design guides and standards relevant to discipline.Ensure all Process Engineering being done on capital Projects are in line with local and international codesand standards/RIL design guidelines and standards.To assist in review and approval of all process engineering deliverables issues by licensor during Basicengineering phase and by Detailed engineering or Feed contractor/EPC contractor during detailedengineering.Ensure process reliability by having proper review process in place for all capital and inhouse projects.To assist create the process design basis and basic engineering design dataTo develop Basic Engineering Packages for Technology developed by R&D and for revamp of process plants.Ensure Process Safety compliance during the preparation of basic engineering package for in-house processdevelopment or by licensor for licensed technologies or during the detailed engineering phase.To understand roles played by other departments on projects.To know how to coordinate technical issues with other departments on projects,To interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines and codes for project deliverables.To originate basic discipline deliverables and documents like PFDs, P&IDs, and Datasheets etc. for aparticular project /assignment.To schedule and monitor work plans consistent with project commitments.To assist technical discussions with customer and supplierTo assist review and coordinate documents from other disciplines.To assist / coordinate reviews with other disciplines and departmentsTo participate in HAZOP studies.JobDescriptionTo ensure that detailed design methods, standards & input data are followed in conformation to clientrequirement.To have through knowledge about design software used in dept.To participate HAZOP, model reviews and coordination meetings.To ensure that health safety and environment and quality assurance procedures are flowed during allcontracts /assignments.To ensure that all the documentation as per quality procedures are maintained for a project.Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)Good knowledge in hydraulic calculation, control valve calculation etc, using software like KORF or any otherequivalent or from first principles.Knows how to prepare & check standard process deliverables like Process Flow Diagram (PFD), Piping &Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), line list, battery limit schedule, tie-in list, cause & effect diagram etc.Good knowledge in Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) load calculation, PSV sizing calculation etc based onsoftware or from first principles.Working knowledge in network analysis and surge analysisKnows how to coordinate technical issues within discipline & also with other disciplines.Knowledge on usage of process simulation e.g. HYSIS , pipenet equivalentKnowledge of working within budget time lines.Knowledge on national statutory codes, e.g. IBR OISD, and international codes API, ASME etc.Working knowledge to develop conceptual schemes for basic feed engineering.Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)Necessary Qualification:Degree in Chemical EngineeringEngineering Degree from accredited college or universityNecessary Experience:6 to 10 years experienceDesirable Experience:Site Experience 1 to 2 years.
