Educational Qualification & CriteriaBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
  • Experience in preparing 2D drawings, piping isometrics, 3D models, and Fabrication drawings.
  • Knowledge of piping design, mechanical equipment layouts, and skid design.
  • Ability to generate BOQ, MTO, and support procurement activities with accurate quantity take-offs.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation practices, revision control, and drawing log maintenance.
  • Good understanding of applicable design codes and standards.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills to work with multidisciplinary
Experience
  • 5 + Years
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design/drafting roles within Process plant, EPC, or fabrication industries.
Professional & Personal Abilities
  • Develop and manage 3D models for piping, equipment, skids, and plant layouts using relevant design software.
  • Perform skid design, covering equipment arrangement, piping routing, access, maintainability, and structural supports.
  • Contribute to plant design activities including piping layouts, utility distribution, and overall space management for constructability.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs (MTO) from drawings and models for procurement and cost estimation. Maintain revision control for all drawings and ensure document logs are properly updated.
  • Convert engineering sketches, conceptual layouts, or redline markups into accurate CAD formats.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, vendors, and construction teams to ensure designs are consistent, accurate, and feasible. Support design reviews, client/consultant approvals, and incorporate feedback in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with relevant engineering codes, standards, and safety guidelines. Provide technical assistance during fabrication, erection, and commissioning activities.
