The role involves ensuring a safe working environment, adherence to legal requirements, and proactive risk management in chemical/petrochemical operations.Qualifications: PGDM in ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety) – Mandatory. Certification as Fire & Safety Officer from a recognized institute will be an added advantage
Experience: 5 to 8 years of relevant experience as a Safety Officer. Prior experience must be from Chemical or Petrochemical or manufacturing industries.Key Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor Fire & Industrial Safety Management Systems at the site
Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Maharashtra Fire Safety norms, PESO, MPCB, and other statutory requirements
Conduct Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety audits
Develop, implement, and review Emergency Response Plans (ERP) and conduct mock drills
Inspect firefighting equipment, fire detection systems, hydrants, and safety installations
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions
Conduct safety trainings, tool-box talks, and fire drills for employees and contractors
Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals
Coordinate with local fire authorities, regulatory bodies, and insurance auditors
Maintain safety records, permits, SOPs, and statutory documentation
Promote safety culture and ensure contractor safety compliance
Hands-on exposure to fire safety systems, emergency handling, and regulatory inspectionsSkills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of industrial fire safety systems and safety legislation
Practical experience in emergency preparedness and incident investigation
Good communication and training skills
Ability to work independently and handle audits confidently
Proficiency in safety documentation and reporting
