LAUNDRY STAFF FOR GIRLS HOSTEL - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH

• Position: Laundry Staff / Laundry Attendant
• Industry: Education / Residential / Hospitality
• Reports to: Hostel Warden / Housekeeping Supervisor

• Laundry Operations: Collect soiled linen and personal clothing from designated areas or residents, sort items by color, fabric, and type, and operate industrial/commercial washing machines and dryers according to safety and manufacturer guidelines.
• Cleaning & Finishing: Wash, dry, iron/press, fold, and store clean items properly to prevent contamination.
• Stain Treatment & Care: Inspect items for damage or stains, applying appropriate treatment methods for cleaning.
• Return & Distribution: Ensure personal clothing is accurately returned to the correct resident. Return cleaned hostel linens to appropriate storage areas.
• Maintenance & Hygiene: Maintain the cleanliness of the laundry room, including cleaning lint filters, wiping down machines, and sweeping/mopping floors.
• Inventory Management: Monitor the inventory of cleaning supplies (detergents, bleach, fabric softeners) and report any shortages to the supervisor.
• Safety Adherence: Follow all safety protocols, including the correct use of chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Experience: Prior experience in laundry operations or housekeeping is preferred but not always required.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, and lift, push, or pull heavy laundry carts/bags (often up to 40-50 lbs).
• Attention to Detail: Ability to sort items correctly and inspect them for damage.
• Communication: Basic verbal communication skills to interact with residents and staff.
• Reliability: Strong work ethic, trustworthiness, and punctuality.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or mornings/evenings.

• Work is generally performed in a dedicated laundry room which may be noisy and hot.
• Exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents.
• Requires handling soiled, sometimes contaminated, clothing or linens.

• Timely return of laundered items.
• Accuracy in returning personal clothing to the correct resident.
• Cleanliness of the laundry area.
• Minimal damage to clothing/linens during the wash/dry cycle.
