- Key Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models and detailed 2D drawings of complex cast and forged components using CAD software – Creo
- Ensure all designs are compliant with GD&T, material specifications, and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with product design, simulation, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Interpret and incorporate supplier/tooling inputs into casting/forging models to optimize geometry and reduce rework.
- Provide engineering support during tooling development, sample approvals, and production launches.
- Review and update designs based on simulation results (FEA, CFD, mold flow) and customer feedback.
- Maintain design documentation, version control, and BOM integration with PLM/PDM systems.
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in modeling and detailing of castings and forgings.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tool – Creo.
- Strong knowledge of casting/forging processes, tolerances, and materials.
- Experience in applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and engineering standards.
