Aerodynamic & Mechanical Tower Module Tower Internals Tower Internals is a Sub Module of the Tower Module within the Aerodynamic & Mechanical area in Vestas Power Solutions (Vestas R&D). Responsibilities Identification and requirements specification for the Tower Internals Building Blocks Design new solutions from early conceptualization to final detail design Optimization of the solutions through FEA assessment and structural calculation Verification of the new solutions performing Fit, Form and Function tests in our wind Turbine Tower prototypes Coordinate suppliers and co-develop new Building Blocks through Technical Purchase Specifications Coordinate technical work-packages ensuring safety, quality, time and cost expectations Qualifications Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical, Structural, Industrial or Aeronautical Engineering Minimum professional experience: 5 years in new product development within the wind industry or similar Proven experience with design activities like DFMEA, Design Risk Assessment, Design Verification Procedures and Design Verification Result Proven experience developing technical work-packages and design through suppliers Proven experience with outsourcing design to suppliers and following up with them Mechanical design and BoM creation using CAD tools, CREO will be an added advantage Understanding of structural analysis using FEA tools, Ansys will be an added advantage Competencies Ability to coordinate and handle suppliers Great interpersonal skills and ability to interact with multi-cultural and diverse teams all around the globe Customer-focused and solution-oriented Proven ability to work both with limited supervision and in teams in an environment with tight deadlines Open-minded and good at sharing and gathering information within a team to bridge the gap between design and value chain Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal Ability to plan, scope and organize work package execution Self-motivated and target focused Proactive and enthusiastic with good attention to detail and willingness to take ownership to make an effort What we offer We offer you a creative job with excellent professional and personal development opportunities in an inspiring, international work environment at an established manufacturer of wind turbines.
