Job Description: Business Analyst (GIS)Job Title: Business Analyst (GIS)Location: MumbaiDepartment: Jio GISAbout the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst (GIS) to bridge the gap between our business stakeholders and our technical development teams. In this role, you will be responsible for gathering requirements, analyzing processes, and facilitating the delivery of high-quality software solutions.While this role covers general IT business analysis, we are specifically looking for a candidate who understands the nuances of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS). Ideal candidates will have a background in or strong familiarity with GIS development lifecycles, mapping technologies, and spatial data.Key Responsibilities1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis (GIS)

Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into clear technical requirements (User Stories, PRDs, BRDs).
Conduct gap analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement within current software workflows.
Create detailed process maps, wireframes, and workflow diagrams.

2. GIS & Technical Coordination

Act as the primary liaison between business units and the GIS development team.
Translate complex spatial concepts into actionable development tasks for engineers.
Assist in defining requirements for map visualizations, spatial databases, and location-based services.

3. Project Execution & Testing

Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Retrospectives).
Coordinate and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business criteria, specifically verifying spatial accuracy and map functionality.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for system updates and new features.

QualificationsEducation: B.E /B. Tech in IT/CS preferred.Required Skills:

Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst (GIS) in a software development environment.
Documentation: Strong proficiency in writing technical specifications and user stories.
Methodology: Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Data Analysis: Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, or Excel).
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills (GIS):

GIS Development Knowledge: Understanding of how GIS applications are built (experience working with developers using Python, JavaScript API for ArcGIS, or Leaflet is a major plus).
Spatial Software: Familiarity with Esri ArcGIS (Pro/Enterprise), QGIS, or PostGIS.
Data Formats: Knowledge of spatial data formats (Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML, Raster/Vector data).
Database: Understanding of spatial databases and how location data is queried and stored.
