Executive: 1–3 yearsSenior Executive: 3–5 yearsAssistant Manager: 5–7 yearsManager: 7–10+ yearsRequirementsRole Overview:We are looking for motivated and experienced Procurement professionals to manage end-to-end sourcing of raw materials, herbal extracts, excipients, consumables, and packaging materials. The role scales from day-to-day procurement operations at executive level to strategic sourcing, cost control, and vendor development at the managerial level.Key Responsibilities:(Responsibilities vary by role level)For All Levels:
  • Source raw materials, consumables, and packaging materials as per production plans and forecasts.
  • Generate and track Purchase Orders (POs) in ERP and ensure timely procurement.
  • Identify and maintain a robust vendor base, ensuring best price, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate with production, QA, warehouse, and accounts for seamless inward and GRN processing.
  • Follow up with suppliers for order confirmations, dispatches, and documentation (COA, MSDS, etc.).
  • Maintain material master data, lead times, pricing, and supplier ratings in ERP.
  • Ensure procurement complies with GMP, FSSAI, and internal quality standards.
  • Resolve supply issues, material rejections, or delays promptly.
  • Maintain documentation for internal and external audits (vendor approvals, certifications, etc.).
Additional Responsibilities for Assistant Manager / Manager Roles:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and budgets.
  • Negotiate long-term contracts, annual rate agreements, and credit terms with key suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends, cost fluctuations, and alternate sourcing opportunities.
  • Lead vendor qualification and evaluation processes with QA/QC teams.
  • Analyze procurement KPIs – cost savings, supplier performance, OTIF, and material availability.
  • Ensure availability of materials while minimizing inventory holding costs.
  • Collaborate on new product development sourcing and technology transfer projects.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising on quality or timelines.
  • Manage procurement audits, SOP development, and team training.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • B.Sc / M.Sc (Chemistry, Life Sciences), B.Pharm / M.Pharm, or B.Com / MBA in Supply Chain or Materials Management.
  • Experience in herbal extract, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical procurement is highly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Tally, Oracle, etc.) and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, COA validation, and material specs is a plus.
