Learn more about our transformative work at .Role DescriptionPeepul is seeking a Programme Manager – Gender Mainstreaming who will lead initiatives to integrate gender inclusion across Peepul’s programs, policies, and workplace culture. The role will ensure that gender considerations are embedded in program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation, thereby contributing to equitable learning outcomes and fostering a gender-inclusive organizational environment.Responsibilities would include (but not limited to):
  • Lead the design and implementation of gender mainstreaming strategies across key programs and organizational processes.
  • Collaborate with program teams, MEL, and government partners to apply a gender lens to curriculum, teaching-learning materials, classroom practices, and community engagement.
  • Manage gender-related projects, including timelines, budgets, deliverables, and reporting.
  • Build capacity of internal teams and external stakeholders through gender sensitization sessions, workshops, and learning resources.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document progress on gender mainstreaming, using data and feedback to inform continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with consultants, partners, and experts to strengthen Peepul’s gender inclusion approach.
  • Represent Peepul in relevant networks, forums, and events related to gender and education.
  • Contribute to research, advocacy, and knowledge-sharing efforts to influence policy and practice in gender-inclusive education.
RequirementsAt Peepul, we seek talented professionals who are passionate about driving educational transformation and making a positive impact. We are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and meet the role requirements:
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience. Candidates with 10-15 years of relevant experience in project management, with specific exposure to gender mainstreaming, social inclusion, or equity-focused programs. Additionally, a strong understanding of gender concepts, frameworks, and tools which apply to government entities and familiarity with the Indian education system is highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (and local language, if applicable). Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across diverse groups. Adaptability, resilience, and ability to navigate complex organizational and field contexts. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Language Proficiency: English and Hindi
