This role builds resilient, scalable, cloud-native systems that integrate software engineering, infrastructure, and operations to drive automation, efficiency, and reliability. The engineer develops infrastructure as code, orchestrates workflows, and creates reusable services and tools that accelerate delivery. This position bridges DevOps, Data Engineering, and Platform Operations disciplines and directly supports T-Mobiles builder culture and cloud transformation strategy.What Youll Do:

Design, build, and automate cloud-native platform solutions across Azure, AWS, or GCP environments or data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Metric Insights or Qlik Sense) or data virtualization tools (Denodo) or analytical tool (SAS) or on-prem platform (Hadoop).
Develop reusable infrastructure modules, APIs, and automation frameworks using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
Engineer orchestration, scheduling, and data platform pipelines, including automation for Databricks, Snowflake, and Control-M.
Develop and maintain scripts that support platform reliability and observability, including monitoring, alerting, and performance dashboards.
Design database schemas and optimize data access patterns in partnership with Data Engineering teams.
Collaborate on platform architecture, standards, and security controls to improve resiliency, performance, and cost efficiency.
Create and maintain platform documentation such as runbooks, blueprints, templates, and operational playbooks.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

What Youll Bring:

Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
35 years of combined software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering experience.
Hands-on experience designing and deploying solutions in Azure, AWS, or GCP using infrastructure as code.
Experience working with modern data platforms, analytics, virtualization or visualization technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically across complex systems.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering and business teams.

Must Have Skills:

Proficiency in programming and automation using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native design principles, including Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
Strong experience using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or ARM templates.
Hands-on experience with data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks, or comparable analytics, virtualization, or on-prem platforms.
Experience designing database schemas and writing SQL for performance optimization.
Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices, including Git, pipelines, automated testing, and deployments.
Strong skills working in Linux and Windows operating system environments.
Ability to collaborate effectively and produce clear technical documentation.

Nice to Have:

Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Metric Insights, or Qlik Sense.
Experience with data virtualization tools such as Denodo or analytical tools such as SAS.
Experience with on-prem platforms such as Hadoop.

Cloud and platform certifications such as:

Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104).
Terraform Associate or equivalent IaC certification.
SnowPro Core or Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate.
Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS).
