- Lead and manage a team of virtualization engineers responsible for VMware Cloud Foundation stack (vSphere, NSX, vSAN, SDDC Manager, etc.).
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and lifecycle management of virtualization and cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with architects and other IT leaders to design scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments.
- Ensure systems are compliant with enterprise security, patching, and governance standards.
- Manage operations, incidents, change management, and performance tuning of virtualization platforms.
- Drive automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices to improve operational efficiency.
- Lead strategic cloud initiatives such as datacenter modernization, migration, and hybrid/multi-cloud integration.
- Track team deliverables, provide performance feedback, and support career development of team members.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Security, Network, DevOps, and Application Support for smooth service delivery.
- Maintain vendor relationships and stay updated with new releases, best practices, and technology trends in virtualization/cloud.
- Prepare status reports, metrics, capacity forecasts, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
- Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
- Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
- Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action.

- Ensures career pathing for all Engineers/Architects within the discipline. This includes tracking education & certifications.
- Act as technical lead for the technology delivery.
- Assist with developing staffing plan(s) and process improvement.
- Assigns, monitors, and provides technical and analytical support to the team.
- Schedule professional development activities, workshops, and evaluations. Discuss, record, and communicate individual's long and short-term professional development goals, and make recommendations on training material and methodology.
- Maintain technical credibility within the data center industry and the field through demonstration and thought leadership.
- Work collaboratively with internal product and engineering organizations during the development, launch, and continued refinement of products and solutions.
- Provide expert technical architectural support and guidance for solution opportunities that involve virtualization, cloud infrastructure, mobility, management, and integration with specific select third party products.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 13+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Expert-level understanding of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, vRealize Suite.
- Strong experience with SDDC concepts, automation tools (PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible), and hybrid cloud (AWS/Azure integration).
- Experience in managing enterprise datacenters, DR solutions, and security hardening.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications like VCAP-DCV/VCIX, VMware Cloud Foundation Specialist, or AWS/Azure Architect Associate are highly desirable.
- Effectively communicate solutions architecture to the client, third parties, and the team.
- Encompass strong listening and interpersonal skills, an ability to solve complex problems, a big picture mentality, and an aptitude to visualize the solution.
- Able to foster teamwork among the delivery team(s).
- Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments.
- Presentation and facilitation of executive level meetings, group presentations, and collaborative technical workshops.
