Job Summary:
As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and
managing platform services on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform. You will be
responsible for building and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure IaaS, PaaS solutions that
enable application development teams to focus on building and delivering value-added services.
Your expertise in AWS services and platform architecture will be instrumental in driving
innovation and efficiency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, deploy, and manage Infrastructure and platform services on AWS, including but not
limited to including virtual machines (EC2), storage (S3, EBS, EFS), networking (VPC, Route
53), and identity/access management (IAM), container orchestration (EKS, ECS), serverless
computing (Lambda), database services (RDS, DynamoDB), messaging queues (SQS, SNS),
and caching solutions (ElastiCache), Monitoring and Logging (Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail).
2. Collaborate with development teams to understand application requirements and provide
guidance on leveraging AWS IaaS, PaaS services effectively.
3. Develop automation scripts and infrastructure as code (IaC) templates using tools like
CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK to provision and configure platform resources.
4. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the availability, performance,
and security of PaaS services.
5. Optimize platform services for performance, cost, and reliability, including resource utilization,
scalability, and fault tolerance.
6. Implement security best practices and compliance standards for PaaS solutions, including
network isolation, data encryption, and access controls.
7. Collaborate with DevOps engineers to integrate platform services into CI/CD pipelines and
automate deployment processes.
8. Stay current with AWS services, features, and best practices, and assess their applicability to
enhance platform capabilities.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to PaaS services, working closely with
support teams and AWS technical support as needed.
10. Document architecture designs, implementation details, and operational procedures for
platform services.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent
experience).
2. 5-8 Years of experience in Cloud specifically in AWS
3. Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure and platform
services on AWS.
4. In-depth knowledge of AWS IaaS, PaaS services, including virtual machines (EC2),
storage (S3, EBS, EFS), networking (VPC, Route 53), and identity/access management
(IAM), container orchestration (EKS, ECS), serverless computing (Lambda), databaseservices (RDS, DynamoDB), messaging queues (SQS, SNS), and caching solutions
(ElastiCache), Monitoring and Logging (Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail).
5. Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, including scalability, availability,
performance, and security.
6. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform,
or AWS CDK.
7. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, Git, including CI/CD pipelines, configuration
management, and automation.
8. Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or
PowerShell.
9. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex
issues and implement effective solutions.
10. AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator,
AWS Certified Solution Architect) will be an added advantage
11. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a
cross-functional team environment.
