Living Landscapes is a lean backbone organisation, being set up to anchor Common Ground, a collaborative systems entrepreneurship initiative in the domain of environmental governance and rural livelihoods, in India. Living Landscapes has been incorporated as a non-profit organisation in India under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013.The RoleYour responsibilities will include:A. Finance & Accounting:
  • Perform basic accounting and bookkeeping tasks using Tally or other accounting software
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including grants, donations, expenses, invoices, and receipts
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring compliance with non-profit financial reporting standards
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
B. Office Administration:
  • Manage office supplies, equipment, and maintenance, ensuring a well-organized and functional work environment.
  • Coordinate office events and meetings, including scheduling, logistics, and materials preparation.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees by providing administrative support.
C. Procurement:
  • Assist in procurement activities, including sourcing, vendor negotiations, and purchasing of goods and services
  • Maintain a record of procurement transactions and vendor contracts and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
D. General Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to various departments and assist with special projects as assigned by management
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial and administrative processes
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and organizational information
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations and best practices in finance, administration, and procurement
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, and administrative roles, preferably in the non-profit sector
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with non-profit financial reporting and grant compliance
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Working knowledge of FCRA is added advantage
  • Understanding of the taxation related to the non-profits
