Job Summary:We are seeking a technically proficient and field-experienced Application Engineer – Drilling Tools to support the deployment, performance optimization, and customer integration of drilling tool solutions. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical liaison between clients, field teams, and the engineering department, ensuring effective tool selection, job planning, performance analysis, and post-run evaluation.Key Responsibilities:Provide technical support for selection, planning, and application of drilling tools (e.g., stabilizers, hole openers, jars, reamers, rotary steerable systems, etc.)Collaborate with sales, design, and operations teams to prepare technical proposals and tool configurationsAnalyze drilling parameters and well conditions to recommend appropriate tool solutionsConduct pre-job meetings with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure operational readinessMonitor and support tool performance during drilling operations (on-site or remote)Perform post-run performance analysis and generate technical reports and presentations for clientsCoordinate with R&D or product teams for feedback on tool performance and design improvementsEnsure tools are compliant with customer and industry standards (API, ISO, etc.)Maintain accurate records of job performance, failure analysis, and lessons learnedConduct client training and technical workshops when neededKey Skills & Competencies:Technical Skills:Strong understanding of drilling mechanics , bottom-hole assemblies (BHA) , and downhole tool applicationsFamiliarity with drilling software (e.g., Landmark, WellPlan, Compass, or similar tools)Knowledge of hydraulics, torque & drag, vibration analysisExperience with drilling dynamics and real-time monitoring toolsExposure to directional drilling , wellbore stability , and bit/tool selection strategiesSoft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to work independently and under pressure in field conditionsStrong client-facing and cross-functional collaboration capabilitiesQualifications:B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field3–7 years of experience in drilling operations or application engineering (preferably in oilfield services or drilling tool manufacturing)Experience in onshore and/or offshore rig operations is preferredWillingness to travel to field locations and client sites as requiredWork Environment:Mix of office-based, client-facing, and on-site (rig/field) supportMay require travel within India or internationally, based on project scopeCompensation:As per industry standards, based on experience and qualifications
