Job Description:UST is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Data Science team and drive impactful machine learning initiatives aimed at improving the health and well-being of our members. This role will focus on leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools such as Vertex AI and BigQuery, and will explore Generative AI applications to create new value for both the business and its customers.The ideal candidate is passionate about data science, healthcare, and cloud-based ML development, and thrives in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Data Scientist, you will:Identify opportunities to apply machine learning to meet business needs.Ideate, prototype, experiment, and build analytical solutions using GCP tools like Vertex AI and BigQuery.Develop and optimize machine learning models tailored to specific business use cases.Conduct model bias audits to ensure fairness, ethics, and alignment with customer values.Interpret model results, identify limitations, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders and senior management.Deploy, monitor, and maintain machine learning solutions in production, ensuring reliability and scalability.Explore Generative AI applications (e.g., natural language generation, image synthesis, data augmentation) to unlock business value.Stay updated on emerging trends in data science, ML, and GCP, and share knowledge within the team.QualificationsEducation & Experience:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of experience in data science or machine learning roles.Experience in healthcare or with healthcare data is preferred.Technical Skills:Programming: Proficient in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib); strong SQL skills.Machine Learning: Experience in classification, regression, clustering, deep learning (TensorFlow, PyTorch).Cloud Tools (GCP): Hands-on with Vertex AI, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, AutoML.Model Lifecycle: Experience in model building, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance in production environments.Generative AI: Exposure to natural language generation, image synthesis, or data augmentation tools/frameworks.Other Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication; familiarity with version control tools (Git), model reproducibility (MLflow, DVC).Summary of Skills✅ Generic Skills:Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib)Statistics, A/B Testing, Experimental DesignMachine Learning (Classification, Regression, Clustering)Deep Learning (TensorFlow, PyTorch)SQL, EDA, Data WranglingModel EvaluationVersion Control & Reproducibility (Git, MLflow, DVC)☁️ GCP-Specific Skills:BigQuery SQLVertex AI, AI Platform, AutoMLDataflowSkills:Data Science,GCP,ML,Vertex,BigQuery SqlAbout Company:UST is a global digital transformation solutions provider.
