We are looking for a results-oriented Deputy Manager to support the planning, execution, and monitoring of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) projects. The Deputy Manager will play a key role in managing smart meter deployments, coordinating with DISCOMs, OEMs, and system integrators, and ensuring service-level adherence under the AMISP model. The candidate should have a strong technical and operational understanding of smart metering systems, field deployments, and associated IT infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:1. Project Execution & MonitoringSupport end-to-end execution of AMI projects in alignment with contract milestones and RDSS guidelines.Monitor deployment of smart meters, DCUs (Data Concentrators Units), and HES (Head-End Systems).Ensure timely procurement, logistics coordination, and site readiness.2. Stakeholder CoordinationAct as a liaison between DISCOMs, system integrators, meter vendors, and communication service providers.Participate in joint coordination meetings with DISCOMs and regulatory bodies.Resolve on-ground issues related to installation, data connectivity, and integration.3. Operational ManagementTrack meter rollout progress, data acquisition rates, communication uptime, and SLA compliance.Oversee field team activities including installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.Support field force enablement through training and issue resolution.4. IT & System Integration SupportCoordinate with IT teams for HES-MDM (Meter Data Management) integration and validation.Support data synchronization, remote firmware updates, and cyber security compliance.Assist in data analytics/reporting for consumption trends, billing, and loss analysis.5. Compliance & DocumentationEnsure adherence to AMISP contract obligations, DPRs, and guidelines under RDSS.Maintain accurate documentation including installation reports, quality checklists, and site records.Prepare weekly/monthly project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.6. Risk & Quality ManagementIdentify risks related to rollout delays, network issues, or hardware quality.Implement quality assurance measures for installations and communication network performance.Escalate deviations and ensure corrective/preventive actions are taken.RequirementsQualifications & Skills:B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or related field; MBA or Project Management certification is a plus.4–8 years of experience in power distribution, smart metering, or utility automation projects.Good understanding of AMI architecture, smart meters (DLMS/COSEM), RF/Cellular communication, and HES/MDM platforms.Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).Strong coordination, communication, and field operations management skills.Willingness to travel to project sites across regions.
