Indian Institute of Public Health Delhi NCR (IIPHD) was established in 2008 by Public Health Foundation of India. The institute now functions as an independent entity under the Institute of Public Health Sciences Society (IPHSS) registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 and is located at KIIT College Campus, KIIT College of Engineering, Sohna Road – Mumbai Expressway, Gurugram, Haryana.IIPHD currently offers Masters of Public Health, Integrated Masters (Clinical Research) & PhD, PG Diploma in Public Health Management and other courses. For more information, please visit the website .Job Summary:IPHSS is looking for a person with the highest level of competence, integrity, morals and institutional commitment to be appointed as the Director of the Institute. The person should be a distinguished academician with minimum of five years of experience as Professor in a University or equivalent experience in a reputed research and or academic organisation related to public health, medical sciences, social sciences or allied fields with a proof of having demonstrated academic leadership.Building on the Institute's strong foundations and impressive track record, the Director will provide strategic leadership to enable the institute to achieve the next level of growth. The person will be expected to foster a culture of academic excellence and thought leadership to keep the Institute at the cutting edge of public health education, research, and technical advisory work. The candidate must be an inspirational leader and innovator with a demonstrated track record of administrative experience. The Director must be able to lead an accomplished team of qualified and experienced academic professionals and staff. The Director will also have the responsibilities to raise funds for the development, growth and sustenance of the Institute.Deliverables:

  • Setting institutional priorities
  • Aligning IIPH Delhi agenda and activities to goals and priorities of PHFI and ensuring harmonious relationship
  • Providing leadership to internal review process of IIPH Delhi
  • Developing systems and processes (technical and operations)
  • Creating and making institutional committees operational
  • Seeking and implementing advice from IPHS Society Governing Board / Executive Committee.
  • Sharing resources with other IIPHs
  • Development and expansion of academic programs
  • Developing the portfolio of distance education
  • Developing training portfolio of IIPH Delhi
  • Leading demand generation activities for teaching and training programs
  • Ensuring quality assurance for academic, training and research programs
  • Active participation in teaching and training programs
  • Developing research agenda for the institute
  • Active participation in research programs (Development of proposals, execution of projects, dissemination including publications)
  • Faculty recruitment and mentoring (managing academic aspirations of faculty members)
  • Recruitment, supervision and mentoring of operations staff
  • Launching newer initiatives, building partnerships with States
  • Building academic partnerships with institutions, organizations and associations
  • Representing IIPH Delhi in academic forum and meetings
  • Showcasing IIPH Delhi
  • Ensuring sustainability of IIPH Delhi operations
  • Undertake tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Chair of the Society.
Qualification:Essential:Applications are invited from eminent academicians and professionals with PhD / Doctorate qualification and outstanding academic credentials engaged with public health in India or abroad with substantial teaching and research experience. The applicants should have demonstrated academic contributions and proven track record in administrative and leadership roles in academic institutions.The appointment will be for a tenure of 3 years or until attaining the age of superannuation at age 65, whichever is earlier. An incumbent can be considered for an additional term, if eligible.
