This position involves working in the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire) Design Engineering Team at XS CAD's Global Delivery Centre at Andheri in Mumbai. The MEP Design & Engineering Team at XS CAD consists of skilled professionals including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Engineers with varied experience. This team at XS CAD delivers core Building Services Design Solutions to MEP Clients across the world including one of the largest. XS CAD has had the privilege of delivering MEP Services to hundreds of projects over the past 15 years including Hospitals, Airports, Stadia, Educational Institutes, Commercial as well as Residential Building Structures. Skills This position involves working independently, while reporting to the manager and team leaders of the MEP Department. The right candidate should have the following skills: Responsibility for the overall design of Plumbing & fire protection systems & deliverables, including Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Tender Design / Documentation (including Technical Specifications, BOQ, Schedules and Drawings). Ability to design complete distribution systems to current legislation and codes of practice for various type of buildings based on client brief & guidelines. Ability to work independently on various calculations and layouts/schematic mark-ups as per project requirements. Having regular communication with the client and taking on design responsibilities on project types like commercial, residential, retail, laboratories & hospitals. Understanding codes & standards local to project location and utilizing the latest & industry leading software The role would require the right candidate to take on a leadership role with the potential of growing a team reporting to them This job also involves the following aspects - Ability to independently communicate with Clients in written and spoken English. Ability to independently create Plumbing & fire protection design mark-ups and perform calculations. Ability to mentor and assist Junior Engineers. Ability to get trained on and work on newer Design Software. Ability to undertake offshore visit to client office if required for detailed training and one to one sessions. Qualifications and experience Minimum 2 years of experience in the Construction, MEP and Design industry. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. ITI/Technical Diploma with relevant work experience in HVAC/electrical/mechanical pipework sectors. Experience Minimum 8 years of experience in designing of Plumbing & Fire Protection systems for commercial, retail, hospital and residential projects. Experience in design of water supply, sewerage and drainage system including necessary calculations. Design of comprehensive underground sewerage and storm water systems. Sizing and selecting of location for STP & water tanks. Detail drawing layout for internal & external water and drainage system. Experience in fire protection systems design of sprinklers, external & internal hydrant system, fire pump & tank systems design, hydraulic calculations. Experience of having worked on AutoCAD for preparing Design layouts. Experience of using MS Office. Proven experience of having successfully managed Client communication
