Customers in more than 135 countries depend on Aviat Networks to build, expand, and upgrade their voice, data, and video solutions.We currently have an immediate need for a Director, Project ManagementAbout the Role:The Director Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing complex projects from inception to completion. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring project milestones are met, and delivering projects within scope, budget, and timeline.The Director Project Manager will need to directly manage a globally distributed team of Project Managers. They need to work with product development and cross-functional teams. for our range of telecommunications products in Software and/or Hardware.The candidate needs to have a proven track record as a people manager, project manager, first class communication skills in internationally distributed development teams, substantial expertise in software and/or hardware development projects and should be obsessed with co-operative teamwork and accountability of delivering extraordinary results. They need to be biased for action.Responsibilities:

Direct Team Leadership: manage the Project management Office and its team members (Project managers and project owners or technical leads).
Partner Management: Internal team and process definition for Outsourced Partners Management (control, planning and steering)
Project Leadership: Lead dedicated projects with full accountability.
Project Planning: Develop, Oversee and Approve comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Team Leadership (others): Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective communication among team members. Perform regular program meetings and gating reviews per product introduction process to ensure project remains on-track and meets compliance to industry requirements.

Stakeholder Management: Engage with stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide updates, and manage expectations. Work closely with Product Line Managers, Sales team, TAC team, Operations team, development teams, including software, system engineering, hardware design and signal processing disciplines.
Execution and Monitoring: Oversee project execution, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure project success.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders. Escalate deviations from the plan.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes.
Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial accountability.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, or a related field with a strong technical background in Hardware/Software Engineering or similar. A master’s degree and PMP certification is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management of software/hardware development projects, with a proven track record of managing large-scale programs.
Strong leadership, result orientation, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
Ability to work and act globally – across different time zones and across global teams
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure project accuracy and quality.
Attention to details and an ability to meet targets and deadlines.
High level of self-motivation and ability to manage multiple products at one time.
Bias for action.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Power Point and MS Project.
Openness to try new methodologies and a desire to continually improve performance.
Taking end-to-end accountability and drive for results personality.
High level of written and oral communications in English.

Professional Desirable:

Background in Engineering and Manufacturing Operations or Product Management.
PMP, ScrumMaster or other Agile certification
Experience in wireless products, networking technologies and software development Experience and understanding of telecommunications engineering.
Experience in multi-national and multi-site development projects.
Ability to influence and lead cross functional.
Customer focus.
