Role PurposeThe Deputy Manager - CDMM will be responsible for end-to-end development of sheet metal, rubber, hose, and casting parts for new engine projects, ensuring First Time Right and Every Time Right delivery. The role focuses on supplier-led part development aligned to Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Development (QCDD) objectives, within defined project timelines.Key ResponsibilitiesLead development of engine parts for new projects, including:Sheet metal deep-drawn parts (VHC, Oil Sump, Pulleys),Oil & Fuel Filter Guards,Front & Rear Plates,Brackets, Strainer parts,Hoses and rubber components,Casting partsEnsure on-time part development through structured project execution aligned to engine project milestones.Drive supplier-based part development using QCDD methodology to achieve: Quality compliance,Cost competitiveness,Delivery adherence,Robust development processesCoordinate with suppliers to achieve First Time Right (FTR) and Every Time Right (ETR) outcomes across all developed parts.Execute and monitor APQP and VPPAP activities, ensuring timely closures in collaboration with SQI and internal stakeholders.Support Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) activities, including PTR execution and quality issue resolution at supplier locations.Ensure effective cross-functional coordination with SQI, Engineering, SCM, and Manufacturing teams.Manage documentation, approvals, and tracking through SAP (MM module) and other digital platforms.Communication & Language
  • Working knowledge of English, Hindi and Marathi (mandatory)
  • Strong communication skills for supplier coordination and cross-functional engagement
Systems & Tools
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (MM module)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Exposure to workflow tools such as Cordys (or similar platforms)
Commercial & Compliance Knowledge
  • Basic understanding of tax structures such as GST, VAT, etc.
  • Cost awareness and ability to engage suppliers on cost and value discussions
Quality & Systems Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of APQP, VPPAP, and quality systems
  • Experience in coordinating PTR activities and driving VPPAP closure with SQI
  • Understanding of STA functions and supplier quality engagement
Technical & Manufacturing Knowledge
  • Knowledge of sheet metal tooling development and basic cost estimation
  • Understanding of hose and rubber manufacturing processes
  • Exposure to casting part development
  • Strong understanding of supplier capabilities and supplier base assessment
Project & Execution Skills
  • Strong understanding of project scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Proven capability in project planning, execution, and time management
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies
