The Data Engineer is responsible for developing end-to-end data flow processes across applications, systems, and various data sources and targets in the company's data ecosystem. This position develops and maintains ETL processes to ensure the timely and accurate movement of data across various systems while optimizing for performance and reliability. The Data Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate data from diverse sources, ensuring data consistency, quality, and reliability. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems. Minimum 4 years of experience in developing BI and ETL workflow, preferably in a retail/hospitality environment. Proven experience in data engineering with a focus on Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory and experience with one or more of the mainstream data warehouse technologies and ETL technologies Successful completion of initial and periodically required training (including but not limited to store training, Recognizing & Preventing Sexual Harassment training, Conscious inclusion training, and Landmark Forum, etc.) (not applicable for contractor position) Obtaining a valid Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to demonstrate and teach Panda's Mission, Values, and Culture Solid understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts Thorough knowledge of data processing architecture and systems architecture Thorough knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux configuration and environment Expertise in SQL and working knowledge of other coding languages, such as Python and Unix scripting Familiar with the environment of major Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), such as MS SQL Server 2012/2014/2016 and Azure Synapse Familiarity with other data engineering tools and technologies, such as Apache Spark and Apache Kafka Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong understanding of business processes. Strong computer/technology skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Strong communication (oral and written), presentation and facilitation skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
