JOB SCOPE Role : Network Engineer-Senior Associate Apex Fund Services is a rapidly expanding global Fund Services Company with almost 12,000 staff based in 45 different locations world-wide. The Network Engineer will report into the Infrastructure Engineering function, supporting both Service and Delivery. As Network Engineer youll be responsible for the support, implementation, and maintenance of Apexs Global Network environment. This will involve developing detailed documentation for Technology teams and management as well as strategic planning and implementation. Your daily challenge will be identifying and solving complex problems, providing Subject Matter Expertise Consultation and participating in project Implementation activities Responsibilities Ensure that the LAN/WAN is capable of providing required services by supporting the network infrastructure Provide Subject Matter Expertise/daily operational support for LAN/WAN network technologies, but not limited to the following: Firewalls Routers and Switches Telephony VPN systems AWS Networking Wi-Fi CCTV Perform pre-installation site surveys, project planning, equipment replacement, software upgrades and post installation support Provide deep-level troubleshooting in conjunction with vendor/third-party support providers within the applicable technology platforms to identify, resolve, and provide root cause analysis of network related issues Gather latency statistics and find specific network bottlenecks, evaluate problems and implement fix actions through device reconfiguration or replacement depending on the circumstances Participate in and respond to system and network incidents Provide technical support leadership on problem calls Produce and maintain network documentation Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new technology solutions Document policies, standards and knowledgebase articles Participate in the release management lifecycle Participate in Technical Advisory Board (TAB) / Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to determine the impact of, provided feedback on, and approve/decline changes for Apex environment changes Perform on-call duties as needed to support technology services to business. Job Requirements Excellent written and communication skills in English Bachelors degree in computer science or related discipline 5+ years experience as Network Engineer Certification in Cisco/other networking technologies will be considered as a strong advantage Experience in implementing and troubleshooting Cisco technologies, Network Management, Firewall, Management, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, VOIP, VPN and Wireless skills AWS / Azure Knowledge or experience will be considered as a strong advantage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Knowledge or experience such as Terraform will be considered as a strong advantage Excellent problem-solving abilities and good at working under own initiative Ability to take ownership of a technical solution and work with a number of stakeholders (internal and external) to deliver a design and implementation approach Ability to articulate design topics, using tools such as Visio, PowerPoint, and any modelling tools utilising ArchiMate Ability to be able to work well under pressure Certification in frameworks such as ITIL v3, ISO 27001 would be an advantage
