JobType: full-timeRequirements:We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Consultant in Medical Oncology to join our oncology team. This role provides an opportunity for an early-career oncologist or a fresh postgraduate to begin their journey in delivering advanced cancer care. As a Consultant in Medical Oncology, you will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with cancer through evidence-based and patient-centered approaches. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists to provide holistic care, contribute to ongoing research, and stay updated with the latest advances in cancer therapy.Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Diagnosis & Treatment
- Diagnose and manage cancers using chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, and targeted treatments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient condition, cancer type, and stage of disease.
- Monitor treatment responses closely and modify therapies to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborative Care
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and palliative care specialists.
- Actively contribute to tumor boards and case discussions to provide well-rounded patient care.
- Patient & Family Engagement
- Provide compassionate, clear, and empathetic counseling to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, potential side effects, and prognosis.
- Offer psychological and emotional support while guiding patients through different stages of their treatment journey.
- Medical Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, treatment histories, and follow-up notes.
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, medical guidelines, and compliance with ethical and legal standards of care.
- Research & Continuous Learning
- Stay updated with the latest developments in oncology, emerging cancer therapies, and advancements in clinical research.
- Participate in institutional clinical trials and research initiatives where possible.
- Engage in continuous professional development through conferences, workshops, and training programs.
- Educational Requirements:
- MBBS with MD / DM / DNB in Medical Oncology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Fresh postgraduates and early-career specialists are encouraged to apply (0+ years of experience).
- Technical Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of cancer biology, oncology protocols, and evidence-based cancer therapies.
- Familiarity with chemotherapy regimens, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care practices.
- Ability to evaluate diagnostic reports and design treatment strategies accordingly.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach.
