Project Planning and Preparation : Understand project requirements and develop installation plans for IIoT industrial automation systems. Participate in project meetings to provide input on the feasibility and practicality of proposed solutions. System Installation : Oversee the physical installation of IIoT automation equipment, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), industrial sensors, actuators, communication gateways, and other necessary components. Ensure proper mounting, wiring, and connections are done following safety guidelines and industry best practices. Network and Communication Setup : Configure and establish communication networks to enable data exchange between industrial devices, machines, and the central automation system. Implement secure communication protocols and ensure data integrity during transmission. Vendor Management : Co-ordinate with external vendors and suppliers to identify suitable IIoT automation equipment and components required for the installation project. Evaluate vendor capabilities and offerings to ensure high-quality products are procured. Bill of Materials (BOM) Creation : Prepare comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) based on project specifications, including detailed lists of required hardware, software, sensors, cables, and other components necessary for the IIoT automation system. Procurement : Coordinate the procurement process, including obtaining quotes, negotiating prices, and placing orders for the identified components and equipment. Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project timelines. Calibration and Testing: Perform calibration and testing of sensors, actuators, and automation equipment to ensure accurate data acquisition and control. Conduct functional and performance testing to validate the proper operation of the IIoT automation system. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the installation process. Troubleshoot problems related to hardware, software, communication, and configuration to ensure smooth operation. Onsite Support : Provide technical support during and after the installation, responding to inquiries from team members and addressing any challenges that arise. Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of the installation process. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of the installation process, including equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, test results, and any modifications made during deployment. Prepare progress reports and share updates with project managers and stakeholders. Training and Handover: Provide training to end-users and maintenance personnel on operating and maintaining the installed IIoT industrial automation system. Ensure a smooth handover of the project to the operations team. Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all installation activities adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Implement safety measures and conduct risk assessments to minimize hazards during installation. Required Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in installing and commissioning industrial automation systems, preferably with IIoT integration. Familiarity with PLCs, industrial sensors, communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus), and industrial networks. Familiarity with PID Controllers and programming will be a added advantage. Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and control panel installations. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial environment. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for diagnosing technical issues. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines. Experience in vendor management, BOM creation, and procurement processes. Willingness to travel and work on-site at various industrial locations as required.
