- The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to translate sophisticated technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. You will work closely with engineering, product management, and customer support teams to build and maintain comprehensive documentation for our software products.
- Develop, write, and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including user guides, release notes, API documentation, installation guides, and online help.
- Engage with software developers, product owners, and other customers to collect information and comprehend the technical aspects of our products.
- Review and edit documentation for clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Build diagrams, screenshots, and other visual aids to elevate the documentation.
- Ensure documentation complies with established standards and guidelines.
- Handle multiple documentation projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve documentation processes and tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of experience in technical writing within the software industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of software development concepts and methodologies.
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as XMetaL Author, Oxygen XML Editor, or similar. Experience with version control systems like Git. Familiarity with markup languages such as HTML, XML, and Markdown.
- Knowledge of agile development practices is a plus. Knowledge of DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) for structured content authoring and management.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and single-source publishing. Experience in crafting video tutorials and other multimedia content. Familiar with Microsoft Style Guide (MSTP). Basic understanding of UX/UI principles.
