Educational Background: A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English and B.Ed.International Curriculum Certification.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the planning of the curriculum content, ensuring it is well sequenced to promote pupil progress.
Strong focus on improving student learning outcomes and academic results.
Ability to identify gaps in academics and assessments and implement effective improvement strategies.
Ensure new teachers are well-aligned with curriculum standards, teaching methodologies, and school expectations.
Foster a strong sense of team cohesion and collaboration within the English Department by encouraging open communication, sharing of best practices, and collective problem-solving.
Expertise in paper setting and review assessments and term end paper across all segments of the English Department to maintain quality and consistency.
Strong coordination and leadership skills to maintain departmental efficiency and collaboration.
Ensure the planned curriculum is effectively and consistently implemented across the school.
Reviewing the quality of textbooks and material created by content team.
Reviewing the corrected assessments of the teachers and providing them with appropriate feedback.
Supporting, training and reviewing of teacher created learning material.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate for heading the English Department with experience in Cambridge and AS & A-Level education should have the following key qualifications and attributes:
Educational Background: A masters degree in English or a related field, with recognized teaching qualifications (e.g., PGCE).Experience: Extensive teaching experience with Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A-Level English, and a strong understanding of Cambridge assessment criteriaLeadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a department, mentor teachers, and develop a high-quality curriculum.Pedagogical Expertise: Strong classroom management and teaching skills, with experience in assessment, feedback, and differentiation to meet diverse student needsProfessional Development: Commitment to continuous learning and the ability to lead professional development within the department.Only local candidates are needed.
