Brand and marketing teams rely on strong market research support to understand brand performance, identify new opportunities, create marketing plans, and recommend tactical adjustments, if necessary.IBU affiliates are continuing to look for avenues to expand the horizons of value and hence the LCCI team is ramping up the international business unit (IBU) -Japan engagement. We are looking for a Team Lead to provide thought leadership to a team of talented Market Research and Forecasting professionals. The vision for this role is to help grow, stabilize, and penetrate the engagement further, to help expand the capabilities and drive global initiatives.Key Responsibilities:
  • “Hands-on” Project Execution & Delivery: 50% time commitment
  • Partner with Lilly market researchers based in the Japan BUs for high-quality execution and on-time delivery of the market research projects covering the spectrum of activities including Pivotal (secondary) and Primary research, social listening, and Forecasting
  • Serves as a trusted advisor by actively participating in various phases of the project including kick-off, approach development, execution, insight generation, and data visualizations
  • For assigned projects may be required to:
  • Communicate with stakeholders to present the final outputs and provide recommendations.
  • Manage the data collection process with external agency partners to ensure data integrity and on-time delivery.
  • Provide appropriate context for study findings based on prior market research, including secondary sources.
  • Attention to detail in every step of the market research process to ensure accurate, on-time deliverables.

  • Drive new capabilities within the team
  • Work in close collaboration with internal commercial services functions (Analytics and Data Science) and external vendors to advance initiatives aiming to drive integrated insights, new capabilities, and operational excellence

  • Ensures quality, speed, value, and compliance throughout the market research and forecasting value chain
  • Ensures all research complies with company compliance policies.
  • Establishes project management for seamless project execution, prioritization, and high-quality delivery from the team
  • Allocates projects to team members to operate a full capacity
  • Supports creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality checklists that will enable excellent quality outputs for all outputs within the function
  • Facilitates shared learning forums to identify challenges and establish best practices across the team
  • Continues to expand the market research capability of the team by taking on more complex projects and delivering value
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and implementation of analytics & research best practices

  • Provides consultative value and removes barriers so the team can focus on prioritized work and provide
Education Requirements: MBA/Post Graduation in quantitative discipline from a reputed institution, or equivalent education and experienceExperience related requirements
  • 10-12 years of market research and/or forecasting experience with a demonstrated ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in coaching and mentoring individuals
  • Minimum 1.5 years tenure in current role
  • Strong experience in the Japanese pharma industry is required
  • Proficiency in Japanese language will be an advantage
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
  • Strong forecasting, research, and analytical skills
  • Experience in methodologies such as segmentation, end-to-end concept testing
  • Experience in data visualization tools such as Tableau/ Power BI
  • Advanced MS-office skills (MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint)

  • Strong work ethic, personal motivation, and team player who is dynamic and result-oriented
