- Assemble aerospace-grade valves (e.g., solenoid, relief, check, control valves & Regulator) per engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and customer specifications.
- Ensure clean handling and ESD precautions for sensitive components.
- Perform torquing, fitting, and sub-assembly integration with precision tools.
- Conduct hydrostatic, pneumatic, and flow testing for pressure validation.
- Perform leak testing using helium mass spectrometry, bubble, or pressure decay methods.
- Verify valve operation under varying flow and pressure conditions.
- Thermal cycling / thermal shock
- High/low temperature operation and storage
- Vibration testing (random/sine per MIL-STD-810 or DO-160)
- Shock and drop tests
- Humidity and salt spray/corrosion resistance
- Altitude (low pressure) testing
- Document and interpret environmental test results; escalate failures with root cause and corrective action plans.
- Coordinate with environmental test labs (in-house or external) for schedule and logistics.
- Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams (for electro-mechanical valves), and specifications.
- Maintain traceable test reports, inspection records, and failure analysis documentation.
- Prepare First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and validation documents for qualification programs.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer quality standards.
- Collaborate with design, production, and QA teams to resolve assembly and test issues.
- Provide technical input on design for testability (DFT) and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Identify and drive process improvements for assembly and test efficiency.
- Follow cleanroom, safety, and EHS protocols during test and assembly activities.
- Ensure adherence to ITAR, RoHS, and other regulatory requirements as applicable to defense exports.
- Hands-on knowledge of MIL-STD-810 / MIL-STD-202 testing.
- Experience with test rigs, flow benches, pressure test equipment, thermal chambers, and vibration tables.
- Proficient in GD&T, torque tools, and root cause analysis techniques.
- Familiar with ERP and digital quality management systems.
- Experience with valves for ISRO, DRDO, HAL, or private aerospace vendors.
- Knowledge of FAA, EASA, or DO-160 environmental testing standards.
- Exposure to working in cleanroom or oxygen-cleaned environments.
- May involve exposure to thermal chambers, high-decibel test areas, and pressurized systems.
- Standing, lifting (up to 15 kg), and precision work under PPE may be required.
- Occasional travel to testing labs or customer sites for validation/testing support.
