About the job Manager - Climate FinanceAbout the Role:We at Arthan are hiring a mid-career Climate Finance professional to support a leading advisory firm focused on decarbonizing sectors such as power, mobility, commodity value chains, and circular economy. The professional will play a key role in translating climate goals into implementable finance structures, bringing expertise in blended finance, project structuring, and investor engagement.You will work closely with top leadership and cross-sectoral teams to design innovative finance mechanisms that bridge the public, private, and philanthropic capital for scalable climate solutions.Key Responsibilities:Project & Program Structuring:
  • Design and structure multi-stakeholder programs involving the private sector and nonprofits.
  • Ensure alignment with implementation models, compliance, and funding feasibility.
Blended Finance & Investment Structuring:
  • Conceptualize blended finance solutions and climate-linked financial instruments.
  • Lead investment analysis, risk allocation, and finalize contracts, including debt servicing models.
Investor Engagement:
  • Create compelling pitch decks tailored to impact investors, DFIs, and financial institutions.
  • Lead discussions with potential investorsdomestic and international.
Knowledge Building & Capacity Development:
  • Train internal teams on climate finance taxonomy, instruments, and investment pathways.
  • Share expertise and build team capacity to navigate the climate finance space independently.
Network Development & Fund Strategy:
  • Build relationships with key players in the debt, equity, and impact investment ecosystem.
  • Support or co-develop a cleantech equity fund, or explore launching a new fund subject to LP interest.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 4-6 years of experience in finance, banking, or fund management.
  • Advanced degree (CA, CFA, MSc, or PhD) in Finance, Economics, or related fields.
  • Prior exposure to project finance, debt-equity structuring, and financial modeling for infrastructure or clean energy is essential.
  • Understanding of payment security, collaterals, and financing from DFIs (e.g., NABARD, SIDBI).
  • Exposure to foreign currency regulations and investor compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with AIF Category I/II funds or NBFC setup is a plus.
Preferred Sector Backgrounds:
  • Investment banking, project finance, and infrastructure finance.
  • Fund structuring and alternative investment.
  • Corporate finance teams focused on cleantech or sustainability.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strategic thinking with financial rigor and entrepreneurial drive.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with sectoral teams and external partners.
  • Learning mindset, ability to train others, and share financial insights.
  • Strong integrity, adaptability, and cultural alignment with purpose-driven work.
Travel: Expected travel: ~30% across India for stakeholder engagement, training, and project scoping.
