About the Role
The Cluster Portfolio Manager is responsible for overall portfolio performance and governance of a defined cluster, covering multiple districts and portfolios under Bharat Banking.
The role provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and people leadership to Portfolio Managers, ensuring portfolio health, controlled slippages, strong recoveries, regulatory compliance, and customer‑centric execution across all products in the cluster.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end performance of the assigned cluster across Farmer Funding (KCC), Gold Loans, Tractor Loans, MFI, Bharat Enterprises, and allied agri products.
- Monitor and drive cluster‑level performance across DPD buckets, NPAs, OOO, and write‑off portfolios.
- Ensure achievement of resolution, recovery, rollback, and inventory reduction targets.
- Lead, coach, and supervise Portfolio Managers across the cluster.
- Drive productivity, discipline, and performance culture through regular reviews and field engagement.
- Identify training needs and ensure capability building on products, processes, and compliance.
- Oversee field collections and agency deployment across the cluster.
- Ensure optimal allocation of cases, productivity management, and cost efficiency.
- Monitor agency compliance with Axis Bank code of conduct, RBI norms, and audit requirements.
- Take corrective actions on performance or compliance gaps
- Drive recovery strategy for NPA and chronic delinquency portfolios at cluster level.
- Coordinate with legal, repossession, auction, and recovery partners.
- Review legal actions, settlements, upgrades, and closures to ensure timely resolution.
- Act as the cluster SPOC for Business, Credit, Legal, Operations, Call Centers, and Strategy teams.
- Support rollout of new initiatives, digital tools, pilots, and process changes under Bharat Banking
- Graduate / Post‑graduate from a recognized institute.
- 8–12 years of experience in banking or NBFC collections / recovery / rural lending.
- Prior experience managing multiple portfolios or regions preferred.
- Exposure to Agri / Bharat Banking / MSME / secured loan portfolios is desirable.
- Strong understanding of rural & agri credit risk and collections.
- Proven people‑management and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Strong analytical ability with comfort in MIS, dashboards, and performance reviews.
- High standards of integrity, governance, and customer centricity.
- Effective communication skills in English and local language.
