Global Predictive Monitoring
Global Predictive Monitoring - AME/LATAMGlobal Predictive Monitoring team is part of Global Service Operations, mainly focusing on monitoring activities such as analysis of vibration data and standard signals to measure performance and determine the condition of the wind turbines and components, combining and developing methods to detect and highlight potential failures and damages before they happen, playing a key role in optimizing service operations.Responsibilities
- Monitor and diagnose the health condition of wind turbine gearboxes, main bearings, generators, and other drivetrain components using vibration and lubrication analysis techniques
- Conduct detailed vibration data acquisition, trending, spectrum analysis, and fault diagnosis to detect early-stage failures
- Perform advanced lubrication analysis, including oil sampling, contamination control assessment, viscosity testing, wear debris analysis, and interpretation of lab results
- Identify failure modes related to both vibration patterns (misalignment, imbalance, bearing faults) and lubrication issues (contamination, oxidation, additive depletion, abnormal wear)
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports combining vibration trends and lubrication findings, including recommendations for corrective and preventive maintenance
- Collaborate closely with service operations teams for follow-up on system alerts and ensure implementation and verification of technical actions in the field
- Improve alert definitions, thresholds, and monitoring templates for both vibration and lubrication analysis based on field feedback and performance data
- Support root cause failure analysis by correlating vibration data, lubrication results, and operational parameters to identify true underlying causes
- Provide technical support to service teams in interpreting predictive models and optimizing maintenance strategies for turbines
- Develop and maintain health indicators for vibration and lubrication, integrating them into condition monitoring dashboards and reporting systems
- Recommend appropriate corrective actions, including oil changes, filtration improvements, contamination control measures, lubrication optimization, and component maintenance
- Share knowledge and best practices across teams through training, documentation, and technical discussions on vibration diagnostics and lubrication health
- Participate in Continuous Improvement Programs aimed at enhancing accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of condition monitoring processes
- Contribute to the development and refinement of predictive maintenance models by combining multi-sensor data (vibration, oil analysis, temperature, SCADA signals)
- M.E/M.Tech/B.E./B.Tech. - Mechanical/ Electrical Engineer
- Level II Certification in Vibration and/or Lubrication analysis
- 2+ years of industry experience in Condition Monitoring, including Vibration Analysis and Lubrication/Oil Analysis
- Strong working knowledge of vibration analysis techniques, spectrum interpretation, waveform analysis, and data acquisition systems
- Good understanding of lubrication fundamentals, lubricant selection, oil sampling practices, contamination control, and oil condition monitoring
- Ability to interpret lubrication test parameters such as viscosity, TAN/TBN, water content, particle count, wear debris analysis, FTIR, and elemental spectroscopy
- Solid understanding of drivetrain components (gearboxes, generators, bearings) and associated failure modes related to both vibration and lubrication issues
- Knowledge in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), correlating vibration, lubrication, operational data, and physical evidence
- Knowledge in diagnosing mechanical faults such as imbalance, misalignment, looseness, bearing defects, gear mesh issues, and lubrication-related failures
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools and ability to integrate multi-sensor inputs (vibration, lubrication, temperature, SCADA)
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data insights into actionable maintenance recommendations
- Experienced in communicating results through clear technical reports and presentations
- Practical, hands-on engineering approach with exposure to real field conditions and maintenance activities
- Proactive, structured, self-motivated, reliable, communicative, and open-minded
