As a Fabrication Engineer, you will oversee the fabrication process of metal components and structures, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety. You will collaborate with design engineers, production teams, and vendors to develop and implement fabrication processes, optimize manufacturing techniques, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities: Develop and implement fabrication processes for metal components and structures, including welding, machining, forming, and assembly. Optimize processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. Plan and coordinate fabrication projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting quality standards and customer requirements. Establish quality control procedures and inspection criteria to ensure fabricated components meet design specifications and industry standards. Conduct inspections, perform non-destructive testing (NDT), and address any quality issues promptly. Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to procure materials, equipment, and services required for fabrication projects. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions. Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement through data analysis and performance metrics. Implement corrective actions and best practices to drive continuous improvement in fabrication operations. Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations in the fabrication environment. Conduct risk assessments, implement safety measures, and provide training to personnel to prevent accidents and injuries. Maintain accurate records of fabrication processes, inspection results, project documentation, and compliance documentation. Generate reports, analyze data, and communicate findings to stakeholders to support decision-making and problem-solving. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Proven experience in metal fabrication processes, including welding, machining, and assembly. Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials properties, and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for design and manufacturing, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools. Familiarity with quality assurance standards and inspection methods, such as ISO 9001 and ASME BPVC. Project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment.
