HELPER/RIGGER/CUTTER FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - RAIPUR ,CHHATTISGARH

• Rigger Responsibilities:

• Load Securement: Select, inspect, and attach rigging gear (slings, chains, shackles, hooks) to steel loads, ensuring balance and security.
• Lifting Operations: Direct crane operators and hoists using hand signals or radio to move heavy structural steel, steel plates, or machinery.
• Load Calculation: Estimate load weights, center of gravity, and lifting capacities to prevent equipment failure.
• Equipment Maintenance: Inspect rigging tools before use and report any damage to supervisors.
• Cutter Responsibilities:

• Metal Cutting: Use oxy-acetylene torches or gas cutting equipment to cut steel plates, girders, or scrap metal to size.
• Fabrication/Dismantling: Perform "hot work" to dismantle structures or prepare structural steel components for welding/assembly.
• Helper Responsibilities:

• Material Handling: Assist in moving steel materials, tools, and equipment around the workshop or construction site.
• Support Roles: Assist welders, fitters, and senior riggers with holding tools, cleaning work areas, and aligning materials.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs), work at heights, and endure harsh weather conditions or high-temperature environments.
• Technical Proficiency: Basic understanding of rigging hardware, knot tying, and safe lifting techniques.
• Cutting Expertise: Demonstrated ability to handle oxy-fuel cutting equipment safely.
• Safety Adherence: Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards for rigging and hot work.
• Communication: Clear communication skills, both verbal and hand-signaling, to work with crane operators.
• Certifications (Preferred): Rigging certification (e.g., Level 1 NCCCO), or training in hot work safety.

• This role operates in factories, steel mills, shipyards, or construction sites, often involving high-noise environments and heavy industrial machinery.
• Workers must wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including hard hats, safety shoes, hearing protection, and welding masks.
