Job Description - Testing Engineer - Research & Design (Underground Mining Equipment)Epiroc India is looking for an enthusiastic and organized Testing Engineer in our R&D department, you will play a critical role in validating the performance, durability, and safety of next-generation underground mining equipment. You will work closely with design, prototyping, and field support teams to ensure our machines exceed the rigorous standards expected in mining environments.This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, precision, and product innovation.Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on mining equipment.
Conduct laboratory and field tests on prototypes and pre-production models to evaluate performance, reliability, and compliance.
Capture and analyze test data using advanced sensors and data acquisition systems; interpret findings to guide design decisions.
Identify and troubleshoot faults, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with design teams to implement corrective actions.
Document test procedures, results, and recommendations in detailed technical reports.
Support product validation efforts in extreme environmental and operational conditions.
Ensure all testing activities align with internal quality standards and international safety regulations e.g., ISO, SAE.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related field).
2-5 years of experience in product testing or validation-preferably with heavy machinery, off-road vehicles, or mining equipment.
Proficient in using testing tools, data loggers, instrumentation, and sensor systems.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical components.
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Familiarity with CAD and simulation tools is a plus (e.g., SolidWorks, ANSYS, MATLAB).
Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Experience with underground or off-highway vehicle testing
Exposure to mining equipment operating conditions or field validation
Knowledge of global testing standards and regulatory requirements.
