Functional Competencies: Little knowledge of other flavours of Linux, Backup (Commvault Preferable), RH OpenShift Container PlatformJob Purpose:We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join Unix system admin team to play a role in managing the team’s day-to-day operations, coordinating tasks and serving key support to the team members. Also, a system admin who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the Server and SAN infrastructure. Analyse and resolve problems associated with the OS, Applications, Software and SAN; also to collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. You will become an integral part of the team and gain exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.Area of Operations Key Responsibility
  • Experience with Linux servers in virtualized as well as physical environments.
  • Help tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure.
  • Experience with RedHat Linux, RedHat OCP and fundamentals of Scripting languages.
  • Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as DNS, http, SMTP, SNMP, 2FA etc. and Proficient with network tools such as iptables, netstat, tcpdump etc.
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on Servers and maintain hardware with hardware vendors.
  • Experience with Centralized Patch Management tool such as RedHat Satellite
  • Understanding for ITIL processes such as Change Management, Incident Management, Vulnerability Assessment etc.
  • Experience with SAN administration such as Brocade SAN switches, Hitachi Storage Systems etc.
  • Familiarity with documentation processes such as Purchase Order, RFP, RFQ etc. would be a plus point.
  • Familiarity with SAN management (Preferably Hitachi) and Backup tools such as Commvault, Data Protector, Storage Navigator etc.
  • Vendor co-ordination and Management Project Management
  • Familiarity with Automation tool such as Ansible would be added advantage
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Fault finding, Analysis and logging information for reporting of performance exceptions.
