Staff Specialist - Data Architecture Engineering

In your new role you will:
- Architect, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using on-prem technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive)
- Optimize and troubleshoot large-scale data workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability
- Lead and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and skill-building sessions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Data Science, Business Intelligence) to align technical solutions with business needs
- Manage project timelines, delegate tasks, and ensure timely delivery of key data initiatives
- Experience leading small teams or working as a senior individual contributor with team responsibility
- Ability to break down complex problems into actionable tasks for less experienced engineers
- Comfortable managing delivery through tools like Jira, Confluence, or equivalents
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, Tableau
- Proficiency with on-prem big data frameworks such as : Hadoop, Spark, Hive
- Familiarity with traditional RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and shell scripting
- Experience in data performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of data security, access control, and audit logging
- Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and create structured onboarding and development plans
- Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration and stakeholder alignment
