- Review the balances in the fixed asset register (incl. SL/GL), IFRS16 ROU assets/lease liability, dilapidation balances prior to period close to ensure balances are accurately reported.
- Review the controls for all activities performed by Fixed Asset analyst pre & post period close.
- Review the fixed asset entries, adjustments, depreciation/amortisation, and capitalisation to ensure these are reported correctly in the monthly fixed asset register (FAR).
- Review periodic balance sheet reconciliation for both fixed assets and IFRS leases.
- Ensuring closure of open items/variances in a timely manner.
- Review of leases in line with the policy, to be able to assess whether a lease qualifies under IFRS16 and understand its accounting implication.
- Review of ROU assets and Lease liability (categorisation between current & non-current balance) and ensuring completeness with Innervision (IFRS16 lease reporting tool).
- Forecast of depreciation and amortization schedule along with adjusting for any future events (impairment, write-off, useful life adjustments etc.).
- Responsible & accountable to resolve audit queries for Group/Local statutory audit and Internal audit. Required to resolve any Tax queries for dh Group of entities.
- Leading the Impairment review exercise & asset verification process. Reviewing all the adjustments posted as result of review exercise to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Review the numbers reported for Fixed Assets balance in ONS survey.
- Assisting the GPO for KPI reporting and running continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review the aging of CIP (under construction) balances and flagging those items which create a possible risk in the near future.
- Responsible to ensure accurate information is reported in the assets module along with maintaining proper evidence/audit trail which can be used for future reference.
- Reviewing process SOP's, RACI's and ensuring they're always up to date.
- Review of management reporting (e.g. CAPEX, performance, fixed asset consolidation, depreciation/amortisation).
- Work with Commercial Finance, Controllers, Property team on Internally Generated Development Cost (Intangibles assets) & IFRS16 lease accounting.
- Liaising with the product teams/custodians of fixed assets during the Impairment review & assets verification in getting a timely response and to ensure there are no delays or no response.
- Liaising with Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, GL & Consolidation team to resolve any hindrances identified during Fixed asset & Lease reporting process.
- Preparing training plan for the new joiners, or providing training sessions to the existing team members, if required.
- Master's degree in finance or equivalent.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in Fixed asset
- Candidate should have a good MNC working experience.
- Good understanding of accounting standards (IAS16, IAS36, IAS38, IFRS16 and others).
- Part-qualified Accountant / Cost Management Accountant / Diploma in IFRS.
- Hands on working experience in IFRS16 Lease accounting will be preferred.
