"As a member of the Electronics Hardware team, you will be responsible for hands-on design and development, architecting, lab testing, and troubleshooting electronics circuits and systems. You will join a team dedicated to raising the standards for battery management systems and contribute to their continuous improvement. You will help build robust electronics impervious to the hostility of various application environments. At Maxwell, you will have the opportunity to make lithium-ion batteries safer, more efficient, and basically help the world tackle one of its biggest challenge : Energy storage."Responsibilities- Design and development of digital and analog electronics for control of high power electronics systems, BMS meant for Automotive applications.- Start to finish ownership of control boards and other electronics – from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing.- Collaborative work with mechanical, digital control, thermal design, and manufacturing test engineers.- Product level electrical design including component selection, branch circuit design and insulation coordination.Requirements- 5+ years of demonstrated successful experience in electrical engineering within a product design and manufacturing environment (high power Li-Ion batteries is a plus)- Automotive/BMS design know-how & familiarity with AIS Standards, Functional safety (ISO26262)- Embedded programming of DSPs and FPGAs in real-time control applications is highly valuable.- Experience with Altium Designer for Schematic & PCB layout design- Start to finish ownership of control boards and other electronics – from specification to design, prototype, and manufacturing.- Experience with high current power semiconductor selection (IGBTs, MOSFET’s, and Diodes), gate drive and protection circuit design.- Familiar with schematic capture and power converter circuit simulation tools.- Experience in the selection and use of DSPs, microcontrollers, and programmable logic devices and their peripheral circuitry (signal conditioning, board-level power supplies).- Experience in supervision of PCB layout for minimal stray inductance and capacitance, placement strategies for better manufacturability, power/signal plane definition, and EMC optimization.- Knowledge in environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for Automotive, Industrial & Residential applications.- Collaborate with BMS HW/FW engineering team to successfully to design, validate and deploy testing tools- Perform DFMEA, FMEDA, HARA, Worst Case Analysis (WCA), Component Stress Sheets- Product level electrical design including component selection, branch circuit design and insulation coordination.- Experience in designing and supervising circuit design and PCB layout for EMI/EMC compliance independently with little to no supervision- Fluent in English, ability to communicate with foreign teammates.- BS, MS in EEE/ECE (IIT/BITS/International preferred) or the equivalent in experience with evidence of exceptional ability.
