Roles and ResponsibilitiesSystem Installation & Configuration:Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Linux servers, including RHEL 7/8, to support business-critical applications.Configure and maintain networking, storage, and user accounts on Red Hat Linux systems.Manage server hardware and virtualized environments (VMware, KVM, etc.) and ensure efficient resource allocation.System Monitoring & Optimization:Implement proactive system monitoring strategies to ensure server performance, uptime, and capacity management.Optimize system performance through regular system tuning, patch management, and resource management.Monitor system logs and alerts using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or similar monitoring solutions.Security & Compliance:Implement and manage system security policies, including user authentication, firewall configurations, SELinux policies, and access control.Ensure systems comply with organizational security policies and industry standards (e.g., CIS Benchmarks).Perform regular vulnerability assessments and manage system hardening techniques.Backup & Recovery:Implement and manage backup strategies to ensure the integrity and availability of data, using tools like Bacula, Rsync, or tar.Perform routine disaster recovery drills and ensure reliable data restoration in case of failures.System Automation & Scripting:Automate repetitive tasks and system administration duties using Shell scripting, Ansible, or other configuration management tools.Create and maintain automated deployment pipelines for application rollouts and system updates.
