- Develop and implement new mainframe applications or modify existing ones.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues and defects.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices.
- Enhance application performance and scalability.
- Provide timely support for production issues and outages.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
- Monitor system performance and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation.
- Share knowledge and expertise with team members.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other team members to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Work closely with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance.
- Strong proficiency in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and IMS.
- Experience with mainframe development tools and utilities.
- In-depth understanding of mainframe system architecture and operating systems (z/OS).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in mainframe application development
- Strong understanding of mainframe system architecture and operating systems
